The team
We, Irene and Stefan, are the heart and soul of riding & leather. I, Irene, take care of everything to do with “shopping” and I really enjoy it! I am always looking for new products and models so that we can always offer you particularly unusual and up-to-date fashion and accessories. Stefan takes care of the logistics – and has the extremely important and demanding task of ensuring that I keep my feet on the ground. Our little Lotta has been with us since February 2013.
As a newborn, she has spent tournaments every weekend. She grows up between leather samples and shoeboxes and is my right hand, so to speak – no one knows how to carry the measuring tape after me as well as she does 🙂 So the second generation of the company practices early! Our dog Nina, the horses Matisse and Lordana and the Mini Shettland pony Jasmine are also a very important part of the family!
How everything began
It all started, like the best things in life, by chance. After a trip to Portugal in 2011 I bought a pair of handmade riding boots. I was so impressed by the quality and so many of my friends and acquaintances in Germany admired the boots that I decided in mid-2012 to import my own pairs to sell on to my friends. After the birth of our daughter in 2013, I started to deal with it full-time. As a native of Spain, I particularly enjoy looking for very special products for my customers in my home country of Spain and neighboring Portugal. What could be better than turning your hobby into a job and being able to buy boots, shoes and accessories all the time without a guilty conscience? As Confucius said: Choose a job you love and you don’t need to work a day in your life. So since 2013 I’ve been almost unemployed;)
Our motto
We are a small family business and we are particularly proud of that. We take care of everything ourselves. What started as a very small project in 2012 has meanwhile grown quite large. We are always busy!
In April 2017 we expanded our company to include a permanent employee who actively supports us, especially in the social media area and in customer communication. Our clear goal is always to never lose personal contact with you, our customers! Therefore, we will always be represented at trade fairs and tournaments.
We recently considered continuing to grow. Ultimately, we decided not to get bigger. If you visit our stand at trade fairs, you will get to know us personally. If you call, write an email or comment on our Facebook or Instagram page, it is always me – Irene – who answers. We are proud to know so many of our customers personally. Many of them have now become true friends. Continuing to grow would mean losing that contact, and thus a big chunk of what we like about our work.
In order to stay true to our ideals, we only work with family businesses. At the moment this is the company Celeris from Portugal for our boots and ankle boots, as well as La Rienda and other small companies for accessories. No large factories, no mass-produced goods – everything is lovingly handcrafted by trained specialists in Europe. We know all of our manufacturers personally, as well as many local employees, and visit them several times a year to go out to eat and talk about new models and ideas. If there are any problems, we use this direct contact to solve them quickly and effectively. Just like you can talk to us at any time if there are problems with the shoes. This “trato personal”, as we Spaniards say, is what makes us different from the others. We like it that way, we want it to stay.
We thank you for your trust and hope to have you on our side for many years to come.
