Dr. Weyrauch J Jod vet is designed to safely address iodine deficiency states identified by the veterinarian through blood tests. J JOD vet is a balanced formulation containing the essential amino acid L-tyrosine, necessary for the production of thyroid hormones. It includes both mineral iodine from calcium iodate and organically bound iodine from bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) and knotted wrack (Ascophyllum nodosum). The use of these tested and standardized algae allows for precise calculation of the iodine content in this product, which would otherwise be subject to high fluctuations in iodine levels. The brown algae are harvested from sustainably managed seaweed fields at the age of 4 years, dried using a patented process, and gently broken into particles, preserving the optimal effectiveness of the algae’s ingredients.

Composition:

Dried herbs (parsley, chervil, oregano), rosehip fruits, bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus), linseed, juniper berries, knotted wrack (Ascophyllum nodosum).

For large horses, administer 30g daily (2 scoops), providing a daily iodine intake of approximately 3 mg (including iodine from the organic brown algae source – standardized). Adjust the quantity accordingly for small horses. Due to the elevated trace element content and to avoid overdosing in pregnant mares, the feeding amount should not exceed 200g per day.

Experiments have shown that measured iodine values in the blood are often far below reference values. Additional supplementation with J Jod vet should be considered over several months. A follow-up blood test is advisable after 8 to 12 weeks.
